Your privacy matters.

This is the personal portfolio of Dylan Alexander, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. Here’s what happens to information when you visit.
Contacting me
The email composer works on your device. Your name, email address and message stay in the page while you prepare your draft; this website does not submit them to a server or save them in browser storage. Opening the draft passes them to your chosen email app. You still need to send the email yourself.
If you send an email, I use the information you provide to respond and discuss your enquiry. Please don’t include sensitive information. I keep correspondence only while it’s needed for the conversation, an agreed project, or applicable record-keeping obligations. Your email provider and mine process email under their own policies.
Optional analytics
Vercel Web Analytics is installed but loads only after you choose “Allow analytics”. It is cookie-free, and provides aggregate visit information such as page views, referring sites, device/browser categories and approximate location. No contact-form fields or custom events are sent. This site removes query strings and fragments from analytics URLs and records only known public pages, not arbitrary paths or the thank-you page.
You can refuse analytics without losing access to the site, or withdraw your choice with “Privacy choices”. Withdrawal stops future events; it cannot retract events already sent. Vercel processes analytics data according to its own retention and processing policies. Read Vercel’s analytics privacy documentation (opens in a new tab).
Local preferences and hosting
The site stores your analytics choice in local storage under “da-analytics-consent-v1”. It stays on your device until you change it or clear your browser data. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice is held only for the current page session. No advertising or tracking cookies are set by this site.
The site is hosted by Vercel. Requests necessarily include technical information such as your IP address, requested URL and browser information, which the host may process to deliver the site, protect it and operate its infrastructure. Optional analytics consent does not switch off essential hosting operations.
External projects
Project links take you to other websites with their own privacy practices. These sites are not embedded here. No information from the contact form is added to project links.
Your choices and rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict processing of personal information, object to processing, or complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact me to discuss a request; some records may need to be retained for legal reasons.
